Biography

Born in the month of April in New Orleans to a British mom who gave me my red hair & head strong, independent attitude and a Southern Louisiana bred dad who taught me to stay grounded, to be kind & generous & never NEVER change who I really am to please others. Still together, they have supported me in whatever I've chosen to pursue in my life and always made me believe anything was possible.

I started running track at age 6 and ran competitively in regional and national events until I was 16. I loved those years and gained a deep respect for the discipline it takes to be the "best" at anything. When I wasn't running, I was a voracious reader, wrote stories and loved to put on shows with my neighborhood friends.

I first started acting in high school when I competed in prose/poetry events in Speech and Drama, but never fully dedicated myself to it because of my running. Hungry to experience life outside of the South, I left New Orleans at 19 to attend U.C. Berkeley where I graduated with a degree in psychology. After graduating, I was deciding to either move to LA and pursue acting or enter a Ph.D. program. Fate intervened and neither happened because I met a man (who I would later marry) and we started an Internet company.

My entrepreneurial spirit took off as we embarked in the very exciting infant days of the Internet (way before the dot-bust). We faced the challenges of being self-employed and the thrills of creating a business when the possibilities seemed infinite. My creative life unfortunately was put on hold.

Everything came to a screeching halt in 1999, when my husband and business partner passed away unexpectedly. Quite literally I was reborn that day. I went home to New Orleans to recover and redesign myself and my life. It was at this point that I decided to pursue what I always had wanted to and live the life of an artist/actor. I found an amazing coach and moved out to LA and started my new life.

I have always been a very intense person and have lived more than a few lives already. I use all of that in my acting. My Aries nature makes me very aggressive, outgoing and a natural leader (act first, think later). This contrasts with a very introverted, creative and highly sensitive nature that I developed as a child. My artistic work has become a schizophrenic mix between the two.

Out of my training, an appetite and talent for performance poetry sprung forth, and I write and perform in the local spoken word scene on a weekly basis. The best way to get a sense of my spirit and personality is to listen to my poetry.

Happily settled in Los Angeles, I continue to run my Internet company while I train and grow as an artist/actor. I'm actively designing my own projects and looking for opportunities to share my talent.
